Text Box:

After the wedding ceremony we’re off to Acton Reynald for the reception. Built by the Corbet family in the 17th Century it takes you straight back into the past. The great views from the gardens and the house, do not give away that you are in the 21st century!

Now owned by Judith and Chris Mackley, two ex-teachers from London the house is approached down a long oak tree lined drive. The house itself has had several modifications, mostly related to it being a girl’s boarding school until 1996. Nevertheless it still has quite a feel of the past - not the least of which is a significant lack of central heating, so keep those thermal undies with you!

Judith and Chris have begun the process of returning Acton Reynald to its former glory with period furniture, a collection of organs and an array of stuffed animals!

We will begin (weather permitting..keep your fingers crossed!) with drinks in the garden and then move into the Ballroom for the Wedding Breakfast. The evening reception will be held in the old Dining room with music by Soul Party, but there are plenty of comfy chairs available for those who prefer to chat or have a quick post-lunch snooze! The house has its own bar providing a variety of liquid requirements at normal bar prices.

The evening reception ends at midnight. Judith and Chris have kindly offered that drivers wishing to drink may leave their cars on the drive overnight and collect them the following morning. However, please let us know if you would like to do that, so we can check there is enough space. You will definitely need to organise any taxis well in advance. Don’t bank on being able to get one on the night because of how cut-off the house is from the nearest town. If you would like to post a message on our notice board to try and arrange car or taxi sharing or anthing else, then please email us and we will update the discussion page.

Thanks for coming to help us celebrate and we hope you have a wonderful and memorable time.
