Home Text Box: Moreton Corbet and Acton Reynald are located just north-west of Shawbury and just north of Shrewsbury of the A49, in Shropshire.   From Moreton Corbet to Acton Reynald: (Print Version) Coming out of the church, turn right and at the end of the road left. At the end turn right (direction Wem) and after about an 100 yards turn the first left, direction Clive and Grinshill. Follow this road for about a mile and on the left hand a stone wall will join the road. Take the second entrance in the wall and drive up the tarmac drive under the trees and between the meadows until the end. Bungalows on the left. Turn here left and drive through the gates and park here the car. A little further is the Hall.    From Liverpool Airport: Follow the signs for Runcorn and M56 coming from the airport. After a little while signs for Chester will appear. Follow the M56 direction Chester and leave at junction 15. Aim for the A41 direction Whitchurch. At Whitchurch follow for Shrewsbury (A49). Close to Shrewsbury on the A49 about half a mile past Preston Brockhurst turn left, direction Moreton Corbet. On this road there is a stone wall on the right hand side. If aiming for Acton Reynald, turn into the first entrance in the wall and turn left on the end of the drive, pass the gates and park the car. The hall is a little further. If aiming for Moreton Corbet, leave the wall on the right hand and follow until the end of the road. Turn right at the T-junction, direction Shawbury, and after about 100 yards left, directly richt. You can’t miss the church with the ruins of Moreton Corbet.   From Direction Birmingham: Follow the M6 north bound and aim for Telford, M54, junction 10A. On the M54, keep your foot on the accelerator driving through Telford, and continue to Shrewsbury and turn right on the roundabout. (Pre-select righthand lane!)  Follow the A49 direction Whitchurch until the A53, take this direction Shawbury and Market Drayton. Follow this into Shawbury and turn right at the traffic lights (After the Elephant and Castle). Drive past the RAF and the right turn for Moreton Corbet appears a quickly after leaving Shawbury on the right hand side. The ruins Moreton Corbet should be visible. The church is just aside.   For Moreton Corbet, stay on the A49, drive past the turn for Grinshill on the left and a wall will appear on the right hand side. Follow this, there is a slight incline. Take the entrance in the wall, with the porters house aside and old oak trees visible. (Missing this, take the turn after the wall and first entrance in wall). Follow the drive, pass through the gates and park the car. The hall is a 100 yards further by foot.   From Telford: Take the A442, direction Whitchurch. Drive through Crudgington a few miles outside of Telford and turn left at the Dairy Crest milk factory (you can’t miss it). Stay on this road until a mini roundabout and turn here right direction Shawbury. Also stay on this road, leaving any turns left and right until the end. Turn left into Shawbury. Past the Elephant and Castle pub turn right at the traffic lights. Drive past the RAF and the right turn for Moreton Corbet appears a quickly after leaving Shawbury on the right hand side. The ruins Moreton Corbet should be visible. The church is just aside. For Acton Reynalds, when coming out Shawbury, take the first possible turn left (after Moreton Corbet). Follow this road, and a stone wall appears on the left hand, joining the road. Take the second entrance. Drive to the end of the lane, turn left, go through the gates and park the car. A 100 yards further by foot is the Hall.
